DeAndre Jordan Eats Deer For Breakfast (Dunkinstache)

Sorry Blake Griffin fans but despite BG finishing with 32 points and 11 rebounds and logging in his 39th double-double of the season, it’s DeAndre Jordan’s time to shine in last night’s Dunkinstache. He had 3 highlight dunks 2 of which was on Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut.

First one was a Baron Davis / DeAndre Jordan alley-oop:

Second one was a nasty poster dunk:

DeAndre Jordans other highlight dunk was on poor Jon Brockman. Needless to say, Jon was humiliated that night:

Clippers won the game 105-98. DeAndre finished the game with 16 points on 7 of 8 shooting, 5 blocks, 7 rebounds – 4 of them are on the offensive end and 3 poster dunks. Now that I thought about it, DJ’s stats was enough to make Bambi’s mother cry.

I Told You Turkeys Can Fly (Dunkinstache)

According to general knowledge Turkeys cannot fly. Hedo Turkoglu says otherwise.

Yup thats our Turkish Michael Jordan. Not only did he do it once, he did it twice on the same play! Apparently the 76ers thought it was fluke that they didn’t defend it the way they were suppose to.

I can’t blame philly for thinking it might be a fluke because, once upon a time Hedo blew a dunk: (although he says, he got pushed)

Well, now at least we know that Hedo still has the legs to lift off and put somebody on a poster, missed dunk or not.

In case any of you are wondering why Hedo is in a Magic jersey:

Hedo Turkoglu was part of a blockbuster deal that sent Vince Carter, Michael Pietrus, and Marcin Gortat to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Hedo Turkoglu, Jason Richardson, 1st round pick and Earl Clark. Prior to this deal, Hedo played for the Phoenix Suns and apparently not really a good fit for him as he averaged 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Hedo also played for the Toronto Raptors averaging a lackluster 11.3 points, 4.6 Reb, 4.1 Assists and 1 Party per game.

Blake “It Never Gets Old” Griffin (Dunkinstache, Stachelights)

If there’s anything that gets old, it’s milk, LeBron “Karma is a beach” tweets, Carmelo Anthony trade rumors, and a lot of other things. Although, there are a few people in this world that you’ll probably never get tired of and his name is Blake Griffin (and maybe twinkies if you’re into that).

DAY 1 – Los Angeles Lakers V.S. Los Angeles Clippers

Video Credits: @jose3030

This was against the Los Angeles Lakers where Blake Griffin had an awful 1st half but definitely made up for it in the 2nd to eventually grind a win against the world champions. Oh and this happened:

So here’s what happened:

  • Lamar Odom apparently threw Blake Griffin out of bounds out of frustration (probably remembered this)
  • Baron “The Captain” Davis run’s to the rescue
  • Blake Griffin walks away
  • Baron Davis and Lamar Odom started fighting
  • Ron Artest tried to be the peacemaker
  • The fight cooled down a bit
  • Blake Griffin and Baron Davis get’s ejected out of the game with 5.7 seconds left
  • Lamar Odom and Ron Artest  get’s ejected out of the game right after
  • Ron Artest’s hilarious reaction to it:

BUT… BUT… REALLY?! I… *sigh* Fine… :(

Day 2 – Indiana Pacers V.S. Los Angeles Clippers

When you thought Blake Griffin hit the “Rookie Wall” with his struggles during the LAL / LAC game, well you’re wrong.

This man-child, erupted for 47 points and 14 rebounds against the Indiana Pacers and the unfortunate Jeff Foster who was the person assigned to guard Blake Griffin for most of the game. According to Henry Abott, this was an achievement that not everybody can attain:

47 points on 24 shots … that’s really something. The point total is impressive, but not so rare. The mix of volume and efficiency, though, is astounding.

How rare is it?

Several scoring champions from the last 20 years didn’t do it: David Robinson, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady and Kevin Durant among them. And, over the last two decades, nobody has done it in the playoffs.

A quick search of Basketball-Reference reveals Blake Griffin becomes just the 13th player in the last 20 years to manage to score at least that many points with that few shots in a regular season game.

Griffin’s amazing night has been tied or bested by, in alphabetical order: Ray Allen, Carmelo Anthony, Willie Burton, Manu Ginobili, Josh Howard, Alonzo Mourning, Dirk Nowitzki, Shaquille O’Neal, and Amare Stoudemire.

LeBron James, Kevin Martin and Dwyane Wade are the special three who have achieved this particular feat twice.

Interestingly, this astounding efficiency is no guarantee of a win. Teams are 10-6 in the 16 games.

LeBron James, Kevin Martin, Dwyane Wade, Dirk, etc… Thats a real good company to have when you’re talking about these kind of games.

Oh and did I mention Blake Griffin did this on Martin Luther King Day?  For Clipper fans, on Martin Luther King Day, we will not only remember the great deeds MLK did for our country but we will also remember this historical feat done by none other than the “Hope” of the Clippers, Blake Griffin.

Video: OMG Cat Sees Blake Griffin For The 1st TIME!

I do not know where OMG cat has been, but I sat him down in front of my computer to see a few Blake Griffin highlights, and this is what happened. You can tell he is really impressed around the 55 second mark.

(PS: if you can think of a silly/pointless way I can incorporate an interweb meme into a video, please let me know via comment, Twitter DM, or the contact page. For instance, if you know of a good way I can use “Keyboard Cat” into an NBA vid, drop me a line. If you know of a way I can put “Star Wars Kid” with Steve Nash… give me a holler)

Rumored 2011 Dunk Contest Participants

So according to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, THIS is the field for this year’s slam dunk contest.

It’s no surprise that Blake Griffin highlights this year’s participants. It makes sense for one of the most exciting dunkers to be in the contest… plus it’s in Los Angeles. He would definitely electrify.

JaVale McGee from the Washington Wizards was supposedly also named to the dunk contest. The guy can elevate and has been a recipient of one of many alley-oops from the Washington guards, including John Wall.

I don’t know Serge Ibaka for his dunking ability; I know him for his shotblocking ability… although he has done some pretty good game dunks in the past. He might be a bit surprising.

Brandon Jennings? Isn’t he hurt? Is this a good idea?

Supposedly, we’ll find out the final field from TNT this Thursday. But I would be totally stoked if Griffin is in the final field. I really can’t wait to see what he brings to the dunk contest.

Video: Blake Griffin Does This 24/7 (Dunkinstache)

Blake Griffin does this like every game.

Actually, he probably does this every waking moment. Like right now, he’s catching lobs from someone in Uruguay while doing a 720, triple-windmill, peanut butter, and jam.

Dunkinstache: LeBron Is Warming Up

There will be a preview here in Stacheketball but, yeah, you think LeBron James is pumped up for this X-Mas game showdown?

Sometimes, life is not fair. When life gives you lemons, then make some lemonade.

I think Channing Frye is sick of lemonade.
