Bango, the Milwaukee Bucks‘ mascot, put on what was possibly the dunk of the year yesterday.
As the Bucks took on the Atlanta Hawks in their first round playoff series, Bango decided he would entertain the crowd by, quite frankly, doing something completely crazy. Watch the video, as the mascot completes a reverse dunk from a 20 foot high ladder.
A semi-attractive girl makes her case in song for Chris Bosh to remain in Toronto. Her most salient point: He looks like a carnivore, more specifically a dinosaur, in particular a Raptor. Have a listen, it’s surprisingly catchy.
As the NBA season draws to a close, particularly for the likes of the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers, I think we can confirm that Tyreke is a bit of a ‘Freke’. The Kings’ rookie do-it-all guard, Tyreke Evans, has shown that he is NBA-ready well beyond his years.
Last night against the Clips, ‘Reke took Drew Gooden to the basket and cleaned him right out on a spin cycle, going baseline.
Against the San Antonio Spurs, D-League call-up Anthony Tolliver played the first piece of defense that has been seen in Golden State Warriors colors this season. Check out this block that Tolliver pulled off on George Hill, as he not only stops him, but grabs the ball!
Tolliver’s block was reminiscent of LaPhonso Ellis‘ block back in the day.
Grant Hill, as most of us know, was a spokesperson for Sprite in the 90′s (GRANT HILL DRINKS SPRITE). One of the many great commercials by Hill was when he played a kid one-on-one in basketball.
I mean, it truly gave me hope that drinking Sprite would make me a great athlete. Or maybe a better sumo wrestler.
As I noted earlier this season, Manu Ginobili is an under-rated shot-blocker. He claims a lot of scalps, particularly big name ones (Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant etc, as you can see on that link). Well, you can add Kevin Garnett to that list. Against the Boston Celtics on Sunday evening, Manu saw an opportunity for another notch on his belt as KG went to the basket — and he did not disappoint, with a soul-destroying block.
Sure, George Hill got a little bit of arm, but it wouldn’t have mattered either way. Batman destroyed this joker.
Chauncey Billups was not happy with the treatment he was getting from the officials against the Orlando Magic yesterday, so he decided that he was going to take his ball and go home. On this play, he shows his protest to the referee by not only giving him an earful, but also by stripping the basketball away from him. You think he got a tech?
