I wanted to take a quick minute and discuss what Charlotte did wrong in the final possession of last night’s game against Miami. Gerald Henderson picks up Wade close to five feet beyond the arc. Henderson forces Wade to his left, but there is absolutely no help there. Corey Maggette, for some reason, sticks to LeBron at the left baseline, essentially making Henderson’s ‘force-left’ futile. We keep hearing stats about LeBron not taking any 3′s so far; well, Corey, you should have helped on the drive and forced LeBron to take his first long ball of the season. Wouldn’t you rather have that as opposed to a one-on-one drive by Wade?

Remember The LeBrons? Yeah, LeBron’s “family” that you used to see in commercials a few years back, which is really pretty much four versions of LeBron James: athlete, kid, business, and wise.

The LeBrons have made a return. In animated form. The first episode was just released.

LeBron James speaks out before the start of the short cartoon with a message: two wrongs don’t make a right. I know that, nowadays, it’s hard to take LeBron seriously when it comes to lessons in life but, at least, he’s trying to send out a positive message in this animated series.

And LeBron only does one voiceover. He does the voice for Business.

Also, I want to have a lion as a friend. I’ve always wanted a pet lion but to have a lion that has your back? I wonder where LeBron found one of those.

With 9:23 remaining in the game, and the Mavericks down 90-73, Steve Blake drives and gets fouled by Jason Terry. Then shoved out of bounds. Blake got up and told Terry he was not the biggest fan of this.

So earlier tonight, John Wall and Zydrunas Ilgauskas were exchanging pleasantries. Not really but take a look at the video.

Big Z was just throwing them elbows while protecting the ball. One of ‘em hit seemed to hit Wall in the face and the rookie responded by throwing a punch at Big Z’s ribs (I mean, Wall would have to jump or do a Dragon Punch… Street Fighter!… to reach Big Z’s head and face). JaVale McGee came in to stop the fray but Juwan Howard responds by pushing away McGee. Wall, Ilgauskas, and Howard were all ejected from the game while McGee got a technical foul.

I liked that Wall stood up for himself and that the Wizards came in to back up their star point guard but Wall’s gotta keep a cooler head than that. In the future, I’m sure Wall will just respond by doing the Dougie in front of Ilgauskas while Ilgauskas would have no clue what to do.

In a game that pretty much had everything, the Lakers and the Suns went three overtimes last night in an instant classic of a game. The Lakers prevailed, 139-137, and are now 13-1 since the All-Star break. Phoenix absolutely needed this game; they are now three games behind the 8th spot in the West.

When I said “pretty much everything”, it included a rare dunk from our favorite crazy NBA player, Ron Artest. He threw it down with authority with his left hand… and then he proceeded to make out with his biceps.

Okay, not really “make out”… but it has become a signature celebration for Ron. Check it out.

If I had guns like Ron, I would undoubtedly make out with my biceps everyday. As it is, there is no show for me to provide so I’ll leave that to Ron.

Joining the list of “I MUST Get My Triple Double” Club is Javale McGee from the Washington Wizards.

I mean, on the stat sheet… a triple double does look good. I suppose if I was on the court, I would probably want it, too, if I was aware of it. But there’s really no need to celebrate it that much, Javale, just because you got that elusive triple double. Your team lost by 19! What’s to celebrate over that? That’s why Kevin McHale and Chris Webber were laughing at this whole thing.

What’s even funnier is that he got a technical foul for doing a pull-up after he scored his 10th and 11th points to secure that triple double. McHale is right; that was not an impressive triple double. It’s more legit if you got it in the flow of the game.

He came, he ran, he shot the ball, then received a standing ovation from the Bulls fans. That is what this legendary ginger man did when he checked in for some trash minutes against the Washington Wizards.

Yup, that shot you just saw is what Kobe usually does. A catch and shoot one legged fade away jumper. He finished with 2 points going 1-1 in 1 minute of play. Definitely one of the hardest 2 points he ever done.

Fun ScalaGinger fact: In the Chicago Bulls 2nd game against the Detroit Pistons, our boy Scalabrine logged in a season high of 20 minutes finishing with a season high of 6 points on 3-4 shooting. He also filled the stat sheet with a bunch of 2′s. Logging a season high of 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals along with 2 turnover, 2 personal foul and 1 block.
